The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX is seeking a Patient Care Regular role for night shift at Jennie Sealy Hospital. The candidate will provide basic technical assistance and supportive patient care across assigned areas, including vital signs, specimen collection, and daily living activities.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, 12-lead EKG, POCT, and maintaining patient privacy and aseptic technique, with emphasis on safety and quality of care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of one of the approved caregiver programs or 2 years in direct patient care
• BLS certification required at time of hire
• Must be enrolled in nursing program with clinical coursework or equivalent

Responsabilités

• Collect and document vital signs, heights, weights, I&O, pulse oximetry, and specimens
• Obtain blood samples by venipuncture
• Acquire 12-lead EKG
• Perform and report POCT results
• Assist with daily patient care and activities per care plan
• Maintain patient privacy and infection control
• Support feeding, mobility, safety and elimination needs
• Keep patient areas clean and adequately stocked

Two years of direct patient care experience
