Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks a Patient Care Technician I/II to join the care team in Worcester, MA. Under supervision, you will support licensed clinicians, perform vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and help ensure patient safety and comfort in a high‑quality care environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and strong English communication. Prior patient care experience is valued; continuous learning and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Demonstrated competency in patient care I level or equivalent.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge required.
• Computer skills required for daily tasks.
• Ability to remain calm under stress or in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under licensed clinician supervision.
• Communicate observations to the RN with timely updates.
• Assist in daily living activities and comfort measures.
• Assist with mobility, positioning and transporting patients safely.
• Perform basic measurements: vital signs, height, weight, specimen handling.
• Support treatments and procedures as directed by clinicians.
