Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a staff member to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination. The role supports RN in caring for acutely ill patients, practicing medical asepsis and maintaining patient privacy in a stable setting.

The incumbent works under RN supervision with assignments from the Charge Nurse, handling admissions, discharges and transfers while ensuring timely care and accurate documentation in the EMR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities (ADLs, vital signs, mobility, specimen collection).
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives (bedside shift report, hourly rounding, hygiene, isolation protocols).
• Accurately documents vitals, weights, I&O, specimens and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Maintains unit upkeep, supplies and equipment checks, and participates in patient admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

ASN or BSN program enrollment (preferred)
