Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care associate to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination on a inpatient unit. The role supports RNs in caring for stable and acutely ill patients, performing basic nursing procedures and maintaining a safe, compliant environment.

Essential duties include vital signs, documentation, patient mobility, and coordination of admissions/discharges.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care (ADLs, vitals, mobility, I&O, specimens).
• Support RN in care of stable patients and assist with acutely ill patients.
• Document changes in patient condition and communicate with nursing staff.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers on the inpatient unit.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
