Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a nursing support role to provide direct patient care for stable patients and assist the RN with acutely ill patients. Responsibilities include documenting care, participating in safety initiatives, and coordinating unit activities with the care team.

The role requires basic nursing skills, ability to follow instructions, and adherence to hospital policies. Training provided; CPR and background clearances may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities such as ADLs, vital signs, feeding, mobility, and specimen collection.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintains a clean, safe environment.
• Documents treatments, vital signs, I&O, and changes in patient condition.
• Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers and coordinates unit activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
