Job summary

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support RN/LPN in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role includes assisting with ADLs, monitoring vital signs, collecting specimens, ensuring infection control, and maintaining a safe, clean environment while communicating effectively with the care team. CNA or CPCT preferred; BCLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a nursing program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Records vital signs and reports data to RN/LPN.
• Supports meals, bathing, grooming, and mobility with assistive devices.
• Collects urine and stool samples and monitors blood glucose as directed.
• Maintains infection control and PPE usage; participates in safety protocols.
• Communicates changes to the care team and adheres to patient privacy policies.
