Keck Hospital of USC is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in patient care delivery, clerical tasks, and unit organization. Responsibilities include responding to calls promptly, assisting with hygiene, mobility, and documentation, while maintaining a safe environment and clear communication with the care team.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a CA DPH CNA certification, BLS certification, and preferred 1 year healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year preferred experience in a health care setting.
• Effective written and verbal English communication required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH) certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification required.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) must be obtained within 30 days of hire where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient calls within 10 minutes.
• Assist with hygiene, daily weight, intake and output.
• Perform vitals and assist with ambulation and transfers.
• Document all care provided and patient data.
• Maintain clean, organized patient rooms and equipment.
• Communicate care plans and changes with RN/Charge Nurse.
• Ensure safety and proper operation of patient-care equipment.
