Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking Nursing Assistants and Patient Care Technicians to provide routine patient care under nurse direction, supporting the department with compassionate, high-quality service. The role includes assisting with ADLs, vital signs, and basic procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Candidates may work rotating 12-hour shifts across day, evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays, with a 24/7 availability requirement.

Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care and support department services per policies and procedures.
• Assist with ADLs (bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning and repositioning).
• Record vital signs and perform basic procedures.
• May perform EKGs, bladder scans, and basic specimen collections as directed.
