Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is hiring Nursing Assistants and Patient Care Technicians to provide routine patient care under the direction of nurses and physicians on a 5EW/8W unit caring for liver failure and complex head and neck surgery patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year healthcare experience OR enrollment in PT/OT/PA program OR health sciences bachelor's degree with clinical rotation.
• Senior/Specialist and Lead titles require additional healthcare experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care and support department services under the direction of nurses and physicians.
• Assist with ADLs (bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning and repositioning) and basic tasks such as vitals, blood glucose, EKGs and specimen collections.
• Support unit operations and adhere to established policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care.
• Work rotating shifts including day, evening, overnight, weekends and holidays, with 12-hour shifts and possible mix of 8- and 12-hour days.
