UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician to join the Trauma Service Line. You will support 7G, 9G, and 12D units with ADLs, vital signs, and specimen collection under RN/physician supervision.

Roles require rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; training provided in the first week for those without direct patient care experience.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of UPMC Nursing Assistant, or Patient Care Technician, or EIC training program.
• Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), EMT, or Paramedic, or current enrollment in EMT/Paramedic program preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform core nursing assistant responsibilities, including ADLs, vitals, specimen collections, and basic procedures.
• Report equipment malfunctions to appropriate department.
• Establish professional interpersonal relationships.
• Support unit activities: respond to call lights, deliver meals, transport patients.
• Communicate clearly with health care team; show cultural sensitivity and accountability.
• Provide patient care under RN/physician direction; assist with therapies as needed.
• Document in medical records according to procedures; complete clerical tasks as needed.
