UPMC Chautauqua is seeking a full‑time Patient Care Technician to join their Float Pool. This role offers three 12‑hour shifts that include every other weekend and rotating holidays, enabling exposure to multiple units and patient populations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of general healthcare experience, OR 6 months as UPMC CNA with PCT competency within 120 days, OR enrollment in a health sciences program with clinical rotation, OR bachelor’s in health sciences.
• CPR/First Aid per AHA standards within 30 days; CCM training within 60 days; NY Mandated Reporter training within 90 days.
• EMT/Paramedic or in EMT/Paramedic program preferred.
• Completion of UPMC patient care technician class and basic information system training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs (bathing, feeding, toileting, mobility) and transport.
• Perform nursing assistant tasks including vitals, I&O, and basic procedures per protocol.
• Report changes to RN and communicate with the health care team.
• Maintain safety policies and accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Participate in departmental quality initiatives and continuous learning.
