UPMC Chautauqua is seeking a full-time Nursing Assistant to join our team on the 3C Unit. This position offers a variable shift schedule, which will include every other weekend and rotating holidays.

The Patient Care Technician is a valued step in the UPMC Patient Care Support career ladder, with opportunities for continued growth and advancement. Title and salary will be determined based upon experience.

Formación

• Provides direct patient care under RN direction, including bathing, feeding, mobility, and toileting.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and completes safety checks.
• Transports patients and delivers nourishments and mail.
• Documents in the medical record per established procedures.
• Participates in feedback and continuous learning.
• Assists with equipment and supplies management on the unit.

Responsabilidades

• Provides direct patient care as directed by the RN including activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting and ambulating patients; ensures safety and cleanliness.
• Acquires and distributes supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care delivery and stocking patient rooms and unit areas.
• Delivers patient nourishments, fills water pitchers and distributes patient mail; performs core nursing assistant tasks.
• Reports changes in patient status and provides feedback to the RN for care adjustments.
• Maintains professional interactions and supports safety in the workplace; assists with call lights and patient transport.
• Completes clerical functions as needed and adheres to safety policies and procedures.
