Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is hiring Full-time Patient Care Technicians to support the Resource Unit / Float Pool. This role offers a 10% bonus included in the base rate and requires flexibility to work rotating shifts across day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday schedules.

Staff provide routine patient care under RN/MD direction, including ADLs, vital signs, glucose testing, telemetry, EKGs, specimen collection, and other duties as assigned. Training is provided in the first week, with paid days.

Qualifications

• Must be a healthcare professional with ability to support patient care across units.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Participation in mandatory three-day paid training during first week.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing core duties: ADLs (bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning), blood glucose, vital signs, I&O, telemetry monitor application, HAC & PSI prevention, and urine collection.
• Ensure equipment malfunctions are reported and maintain professional relationships.
• Support unit activities and communicate effectively with the health care team.
