Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support clinical teams by performing patient intake, vital signs collection, medication reconciliation, and documentation in the EPIC system. The role operates under physician or advanced practice clinician supervision and emphasizes compassionate, respectful patient care.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and complete Basic Life Support and other required trainings within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and other required trainings to be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Orientation/externship and additional training will be provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients under direct supervision of physician or APP.
• Check in patients.
• Obtain vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, oximetry, temperature).
• Perform medication reconciliation and collect patient medical history.
• Expedite patient flow and room patients.
• Navigate EPIC electronic health record system.

Job description

• Examine and treat patients under the direct supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician.
• Check in patients.
• Obtain vital signs including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, and temperature.
• Perform medication reconciliation and collect patient medical history information.
• Expedite patient flow and room patients.
• Stock the clinic with supplies.
• Navigate the EPIC electronic health record system.
• Perform other non-clinical duties as needed.
• Communicate respectfully and uphold Baptist's mission and core values to drive service excellence.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.
• Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, within 90 days of hire.
• Upon hire these disciplines will be required to attend orientation| externship and additional training as needed.
• PCT, SRNA, Nursing Assistant, CNA, NCT, Nursing Care Tech.
