Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support physicians and clinicians in patient examinations and treatments at our local facility.

You will check in patients, obtain vital signs, reconcile medications, collect medical histories, navigate EPIC, and help maintain clinic flow while upholding our mission and values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills; experience with confidential data.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and related training within 90 days of hire.
• Orientation/externship and further training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and verify appointments.
• Obtain vitals including height, weight, BP, pulse, and temperature.
• Reconcile medications and document medical history.
• Expedite patient flow and room patients.
• Navigate EPIC EHR and stock clinic supplies.
• Perform other non-clinical duties as needed.

Summary

Job Description:

The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician.

Duties include but not limited to the following: check in patients, obtaining vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature) and medication reconciliation, patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, rooming patients, stocking clinic with supplies, navigating electronic health record system (EPIC), and performing other non-clinical duties as needed.

The PCT will communicate in a respectful manner and will uphold Baptist's mission and core values that drive service excellence.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.
• Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, within 90 days of hire.
• Upon hire these disciplines will be required to attend orientation| externship and additional training as needed.
