Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support clinical teams in patient intake, vital signs, and charting. The role requires navigating the EPIC EHR, coordinating patient flow, and contributing to a respectful, value-driven care environment.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, documenting medical histories, and performing non-clinical tasks as needed. Orientation and BLS completion are required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating databases containing confidential information.
• Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, within 90 days of hire.
• Upon hire these disciplines will be required to attend orientation/externship and additional training as needed.
• Must have own reliable, independent transportation.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and obtain vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature).
• Assist with medication reconciliation and collecting patient medical history.
• Expedite patient flow and room patients.
• Stock clinic with supplies and navigate the EPIC EHR system.
• Perform other non-clinical duties as needed.

Summary

Job Description:

The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician.

Duties include but not limited to the following: check in patients, obtaining vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature) and medication reconciliation, patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, rooming patients, stocking clinic with supplies, navigating electronic health record system (EPIC), and performing other non-clinical duties as needed.

The PCT will communicate in a respectful manner and will uphold Baptist's mission and core values that drive service excellence.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.

• Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, within 90 days of hire.
