Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support physicians and clinicians by assisting with patient intake, obtaining vital signs, and gathering medical history.

You will navigate the EPIC system, expedite patient flow, room patients, stock the clinic, and perform non-clinical duties while upholding Baptist's mission and core values of service excellence. This on-site role requires reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills to navigate databases with confidential information.
• Basic Life Support or higher training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and obtain vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature) and reconcile medications.
• Collect patient medical history information and document it accurately.
• Expedite patient flow, room patients, stock clinic with supplies, and navigate the EPIC electronic health record system.
• Perform other non-clinical duties as needed and communicate respectfully per Baptist Health values.

Summary

Job Description:

The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician.

Duties include but not limited to the following: check in patients, obtaining vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature) and medication reconciliation, patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, rooming patients, stocking clinic with supplies, navigating electronic health record system (EPIC), and performing other non-clinical duties as needed.

The PCT will communicate in a respectful manner and will uphold Baptist's mission and core values that drive service excellence.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.

• Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, within 90 days of hire.

• Upon hire these disciplines will be required to attend orientation| externship and additional training as needed.

• Must have own reliable, independent transportation
