Job summary

Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health, seeks a Patient Care Associate to support RN-led patient care on days, with rotating weekends and holidays. Under supervision, you will perform tasks that ensure safe, efficient care, including vital signs, patient identification, and bedside reporting.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, CNA/EMT/MA training or equivalent, and BLS certification (or obtain within 1 month). Strong communication with patients and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CNA/EMT/MA training or equivalent healthcare background is preferred.
• BLS certification must be obtained prior to employment or within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care activities as directed.
• Record vital signs and report deviations to the RN.
• Identify patients accurately and support safe delivery of care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Relocate/rotate to meet patient care needs and deliver meds from pneumatic tube system as required.
