Job summary

GBMC Healthcare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and accurate documentation in electronic medical records.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, active Maryland CNA registration, CPR certification, and at least 1 year of direct patient care experience. Preference given to Med/Surg backgrounds; precepting new staff is included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Maryland CNA registration required.
• CPR certification (Heart saver) required.
• 1 year of direct patient care experience preferred (Med/Surg a plus).
• Certification as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, feeding).
• Maintain infection control and safety procedures to protect patients and staff.
• Perform routine vital signs, I&O, weights, and basic lab specimen collection.
• Document observations in the EMR and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Precept new staff and uphold GBMC values.
