Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to support direct patient care in the Med/Surg unit. You will assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, and basic clinical tasks under RN supervision.

The role requires English communication, CPR certification, and at least 1 year of direct patient care. GBMC emphasizes safety, infection control, and compassionate patient interaction as part of its core values.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Certified as a Patient Care Technician (PCT).
• Heart saver (CPR Certification).
• At least 1 year of current experience in direct patient care; Med/Surg population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care, comfort, and safety of assigned patients under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, feeding, etc.).
• Maintains infection control practices to protect patients and staff.
• Performs delegated nursing care procedures and routine vital signs.
• Uses electronic medical records for documentation and keeps patient areas clean and stocked.
• Precepts new staff as directed.
