Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Nursing Support Technician (NST) to assist with patient care under supervision of registered and licensed practical nurses in inpatient settings. The NST provides age-appropriate, compassionate care, helps with daily activities, and supports safety and comfort for patients and families.

Responsibilities include basic and advanced tasks as directed, patient advocacy, teaching, and contributing to performance improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
• One of the following must be satisfied: Georgia Nursing Assistant Certification, PCT Program certificate, or Basic Nursing Fundamental Course completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive patient care.
• Assist with activities of daily living and comfort measures.
• Maintain a safe environment and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Perform tasks and therapies as delegated by a licensed professional.
• Possibly cross-train as patient safety monitor or unit clerk.
