Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide hands-on patient support in a fast-paced hospital setting in New Jersey. You will assist with assessments, vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, phlebotomy, and daily patient care while ensuring safety and comfort for a wide range of patients.

Ideal candidates have CNA/MA/PCT training or equivalent, with strong teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing patient needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Patient Care Technician program or equivalent medical background.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on criteria appropriate to patients’ age.
• Ensure safe outcomes through clear communication with care team.
• Assist with assessments, procedures, vitals, and specimen collection as directed.
• Perform EKGs and phlebotomy with proper labeling and timely processing.
• Maintain equipment, ensure safety, and assist with transportation and hygiene.
