Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient care across the unit. You will assist with assessments, vital signs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, EKGs, and patient comfort under RN supervision.

You will contribute to interdisciplinary care, ensure patient safety, and help with care planning from admission to discharge. The role requires a PCT/CNA/MA training or apprenticeship and a strong commitment to teamwork and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Patient Care Technician program, or apprenticeship/equivalent experience.
• Ability to learn quickly, work as part of a team and deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age, safety, and related criteria.
• Communicate with patients, nursing staff, and health care team regarding patient status.
• Perform clinical tasks such as glucose testing, drawing blood, EKGs, and specimen handling.
• Assist with patient admissions, assessments, and discharge planning to ensure safe transitions.
