Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in the inpatient unit. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and support timely admissions, discharges, and transfers.

The role emphasizes medical asepsis, patient dignity, and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. Training provided; some evening or weekend shifts may apply; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two weeks of training for those with limited experience.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred acute care experience within the last 3 years.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program with at least one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, meal intake and I&O.
• Participates in quality initiatives such as bedside shift report and hourly rounding to promote safety and cleanliness.
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, restraints and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
