Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care on an inpatient unit. Under RN supervision, you will assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility, and routine care for stable patients.

You will document care in the EMR, practice medical asepsis, and support admissions, discharges, and transfers. The role emphasizes patient dignity, safety protocols, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care such as activities of daily living, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, and documenting care.
• Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives and maintains a clean environment.
• Documents vital signs and treatments and communicates changes to nursing staff.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers on the inpatient unit.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
