Job summary

The Lutheran Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in providing high-quality patient-centered care. Under supervision, you will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient condition, and help maintain a safe, organized care environment.

The role emphasizes communication within the healthcare team, adherence to safety protocols, and participation in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred
• BCLS certification within 90 days of hire is required
• CNA or CPCT certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment
• Collects and records vital signs and other patient data; reports findings to RN/LPN/LVN
• Supports patients with meals, bathing, grooming, and mobility with assistive devices
• Collects specimens and conducts finger-stick glucose monitoring as directed
• Communicates patient information effectively to the care team and maintains confidentiality
• Maintains infection control practices and proper PPE use
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and risk management reporting
• May be required to maintain continuous observation of the patient
