Job summary

GBMC is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support direct patient care under the supervision of registered and practical nurses. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and timely communication with the care team to promote an excellent patient experience.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, specimen collection, and basic charting while adhering to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months direct patient care experience preferred.
• Current CNA I or CNA II registration with Maryland Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification (Heart Saver).

Responsibilities

• Provide for care, comfort, and safety of assigned patients under direct supervision of a nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living and basic patient care tasks.
• Perform routine vital signs, specimen collection, and simple charting.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Maintain infection control and safety practices; use EMR as trained.
