Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Tech to join the Evanston Hospital team. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver direct patient care and support essential unit operations.

Responsibilities include vital signs, basic bedside care, assisting with patient care plans, and ensuring safety and quality experiences for patients. CNA training and BLS are preferred/required as noted.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the U.S. and CNA training preferred or nursing clinical rotation in medical/surgical.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required.
• 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred

• Assist with vital signs, including manual blood pressure and basic procedures.
• Assist with implementing a patient-specific care plan.
• Participate in activities essential to the functioning of the patient care unit.

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Care Tech
• Location: Evanston Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Part time-24 hr/wk
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, rotating weekends
• Required Travel: no

What you will do:

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• License: N/A
• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
