Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech for Evanston Hospital. This full-time role on the night shift (11:00 pm - 7:30 am) supports RNs in delivering patient care, including vital signs, basic procedures, and patient discharge prep.

CNA training and current BLS certification are preferred; some prior nursing assistant experience or customer service is beneficial. Compensation includes premium pay for shifts, incentives based on performance, and opportunities for annual increases.

• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (BP), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and other duties by RN
• Assist with implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in activities essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Contribute to safety outcomes and promote high quality patient experience

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Hours: Monday-Friday, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am, rotating weekends
• Required Travel: no

What you will do

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• License: N/A
• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
