Job summary

Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL, is seeking a Patient Care Tech for a part-time role (24 hr/wk) at Evanston Hospital. You will work under an RN to deliver compassionate patient care, including vital signs, EKGs, bladder ultrasound, Foley catheter removal, sterile collection, and patient assistance during daily activities.

The role requires completing a CNA training course or/and nursing clinical rotation, with current BLS certification, and prior customer service or nursing assistant experience.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the U.S.; CNA training preferred.
• 1 year of customer service or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist with vital signs, EKGs, bladder ultrasound, Foley catheter removal, sterile specimen collection, and feeding.
• Help with patient transition, discharge prep, and care plan implementation.
• Participate in activities essential to unit functioning; support safety and quality.

Hourly Pay Range

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Patient Care Tech
• Location: Evanston Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Part time-24 hr/wk
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, rotating weekends
• Required Travel: no

What You Will Do

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What You Will Need

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• License: N/A
• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
