Job summary

HonorHealth's Osborn Medical Center in Scottsdale is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Telemetry Unit-3W-Advanced Cardiac Care. This 50-bed unit cares for cardiac, trauma, ventilator, and telemetry patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

You will perform direct patient care under a licensed caregiver, assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and document care. Requires a high school diploma or GED; BLS is required; CNA/EMT credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of healthcare experience within the last year.
• 6 months in acute care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• CNA certification preferred.
• EMT license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and components of the patient care plan.

This 50-bed Advanced Cardiac Care unit offers an exciting opportunity for Patient Care Technicians to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment caring for a diverse patient population, including cardiac, trauma, ventilator, and telemetry patients. One specialized pod is dedicated to cardiothoracic surgery patients, providing care for high-acuity postoperative patients who require frequent mobility assistance, ADL support, and close collaboration between nurses and PCTs. The unit is ideal for candidates with previous inpatient hospital experience or nursing students seeking hands-on clinical experience in a challenging and rewarding setting. full-time Day shift working 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 AM-6:30 PM.

We offer self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage. Scheduled workdays may vary, as there are no set or fixed days. Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required in this role. Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY Provides patient related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in his/her independent unit. Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered.

Essential Functions

• Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse.
• Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
• Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED Required

Experience

• Other Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year Required
• 6 months in acute care experience. Preferred

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Certification Preferred
• Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) - License Emergency Medical Tech Preferred
