Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of healthcare experience in the last year or completion of Block 1 in Nursing/MA/NA/EMT/BHT required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CNA/EMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed caregiver.
• Document and report patient condition changes; maintain accurate medical records.
• Assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, intake/output, ambulation and care plan tasks.
• Address questions or concerns from patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Staffing structure and ratios are similar to the orthopedic unit, while patient acuity and clinical complexity are more advanced.The unit primarily serves **medical neuro patients**, including individuals with acute stroke, a wide range of neurological diagnoses, behavioral or confused presentations, and patients experiencing alcohol withdrawal (ETOH).
