Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care assistant to support direct care and unit coordination for stable patients. You will assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, and basic care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

This role emphasizes clinical asepsis, privacy, documentation in the EMR, and participation in safety initiatives. Training provided; prior acute care exposure preferred; CPR and background clearances required.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and following oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities (ADLs, vital signs, specimen collection, meal intake, I&O, ambulation).
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives (bedside shift report, hourly rounding, falls prevention, hygiene).
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, specimens, and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Performs unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
