This role involves performing nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care activities, including addressing patients' personal, physical, and comfort needs, under the supervision of a registered nurse. The position aims to deliver high-quality patient care in coordination with licensed medical staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior patient care experience.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

The following are general responsibilities; other duties may be assigned:

• Observe and report patient concerns or changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assist with patient admission, transfer, discharge, and general care duties.
• Record vital signs, assist with personal hygiene, and record oral intake/output.
• Assist in specimen collection and other patient activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Report equipment issues promptly.
• Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Communicate nutrition issues to the RN.
• Support departmental administrative tasks.
• Answer call bells and relay messages appropriately.

Additional Requirements

Completion of annual education related to specialty accreditation may be required.

Physical and Environmental Demands

• Work requires strength, stamina, and the ability to lift, move, and stand for extended periods.

• Work involves exposure to biohazards, infectious diseases, and working with or near the deceased, water, and electrical hazards.
