Job summary

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the day shift. You will provide direct patient care and assist with daily living activities, vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, EKG testing, and specimen collection under the supervision of a registered nurse.

The role requires an HS diploma or equivalent and eligibility for Sentara Care Partner Certification or CNA/NCMA/NCPCT paths; BLS within 90 days of hire and 1 year of health care experience

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of acceptable education programs (CNA/NCMA/NCPCT, etc.)
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• 1 year health care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with daily living activities.
• Monitor vitals, mobility, ambulation, and documentation.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG testing, IV removal, specimen collection, and Foley catheter management.
• Follow patient safety practices under RN supervision.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.

Full Time, Day shiftShift: DaysThe Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides patient care, supports independent and dependent activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and foley catheter insertion and removal, and complies with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse.
