Job summary

Phoenixville Hospital - Tower Health is seeking a patient care assistant to provide nursing support under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will perform routine direct patient care, observe and report changes, and assist with activities of daily living to ensure patient safety and comfort.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, and BLS certification. Prior direct patient care is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required or preferred.
• Prior direct patient care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients under supervision/direction of a registered nurse.
• Perform routine direct patient care activities following policies/procedures for patient safety and comfort.
• Observe patients and report changes in condition to the registered nurse.
• Assist with daily living activities including hygiene, changings, light housekeeping, and vitals.
• Support in the Career Advancement Program and participate in shared governance.

• Perform observations of patients and reports changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
• Perform specific skills including phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT).
• Assist in all aspects of daily living activities for the patients, including, but not limited to general hygiene of the patient, changings, light housekeeping, and patient vitals.
