Job Description
  • The Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care for assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Responsible for accurate documentation related to the patient's treatment.
  • Assist licensed nurses with pre- and post-dialysis patient assessments and documentation.
  • Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on Dialysis Flow Sheets.
  • Report significant information or changes in patient condition to the supervisor.
  • Assist with emergency operational procedures.
  • Initiate basic CPR measures in cardiac or pulmonary arrest and respond to dialysis-related emergencies.
Required Experience
  • Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related setting preferred but not required.
  • Complete a training course in hemodialysis theory and practice.
  • Obtain CPR Certification.
Required Education
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience in physical sciences or laboratory techniques is a plus.
