Requirements

Job Description

General Summary

Under the direction of professional nursing staff, provides direct patient care, including taking vital signs, checking surgical dressings, assisting with activities of daily living, performing blood draws, and collecting specimen samples. Observes patient status, communicates findings, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure quality care.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

• Perform testing and manage patient care based on clinical findings.
• Record activities of daily living and vital signs.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Promote patient safety and maintain a clean, organized environment.
• Assist with wound care, specimen collection, and other delegated tasks.
• Operate medical equipment such as EKG machines and IV setups.
• Participate in patient rounding, respond to alarms, and report safety risks.
• Follow safety protocols and assist with patient mobility and comfort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Maryland CNA or GNA certification.
• Minimum one year of experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
