Trinity Health Livonia Campus is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support the Surgical Unit under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role centers on direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living and maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of direct care experience preferred (acute or long-term) or completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course.
• Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in completing ADLs.
• Demonstrate sterile or aseptic technique as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain a clean, safe patient care environment for patients and families.
• Record patient information and required data for documentation and charging.
• Complete delegated unit-specific activities.

Position Purpose

Under the direction of a registered nurse, the patient care technician is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental,culturaland spiritual needs. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Assists in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/familywell beingincluding concepts of relationship basedcare.

Shifts Available

7:00 am – 7:00 pm, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am

Status available

Full-time, Part-time, Contingent/PRN

Every Other Weekend and 3 Holidays per year required for Full-time and Part-time team members.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED.

Experience

• Preferred minimum of one year ofpreviousdirect care experience (acute or long term) OR successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course OR Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.
