Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia Campus is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the Stroke Progressive Care Unit. Under RN direction, the PCT will provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and preferred one year of direct care experience or completion of relevant training/certifications. The role covers 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM shifts with full-time status and weekend/holiday requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred minimum of one year of direct care experience (acute or long term) OR successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course. Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing care as delegated by the RN in order to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Assists patients in completing ADLs.
• Demonstrates sterile or aseptic technique as appropriate when performing delegated activities.
• Maintains a clean, safe patient care environment that supports patient/family well being.
• Records patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation and charging requirements.
• Completes delegated unit-specific activities.

Position Purpose

Under the direction of a registered nurse, the patient care technicianis responsible fordirect patient care considering age specific, developmental,culturaland spiritual needs. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Assists in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/familywell beingincluding concepts ofrelationship basedcare.

Shifts Available

7:00 am - 7:00 pm, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am

Status available

Full-time

Every Other Weekend and 3 Holidays per year required for Full-time and Part-time team members.
