Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia Campus is seeking a Patient Care Tech to work the night shift in the ICU. Under RN direction, you will provide direct patient care, support patient/family well-being, and help maintain a safe care environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred one year of direct care experience or completion of related courses. Full-time with every other weekend and holidays may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred 1 year of direct care experience or completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT courses.
• Nursing fundamentals coursework for BSN students may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living as delegated by the RN.
• Demonstrate sterile or aseptic technique when performing delegated tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment for patients and families.
• Record patient information accurately to support documentation and charging requirements.
• Complete unit-specific activities as delegated.

Position Purpose

Under the direction of a registered nurse, the patient care technicianis responsible fordirect patient care considering age specific, developmental,culturaland spiritual needs. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Assists in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/familywell beingincluding concepts ofrelationship basedcare.

Shifts Available

7:00 pm - 7:00 am

Status available

Full-time

Every Other Weekend and 3 Holidays per year required for Full-time and Part-time team members.

Required Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or GED.

Experience

Preferred minimum of one year ofpreviousdirect care experience (acute or long term) OR successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course OR Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.
