Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia Campus is seeking a Night Shift Patient Care Technician to support the ICU team. The role operates under RN direction to deliver direct patient care while upholding safety and patient-family well-being.

Must have a High School diploma or GED, with preference for 1 year direct care experience or related nursing assistant training. Full-time position with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred minimum of one year direct care experience or completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course.
• Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in completing ADLs.
• Demonstrate sterile or aseptic technique as appropriate when performing delegated activities.
• Establish and maintain a patient care environment that is clean, safe, and conducive to patient/family well being.
• Record patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation and charging requirements.
• Complete delegated unit-specific activities.

Position Purpose

Under the direction of a registered nurse, the patient care technician is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Assists in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family well being including concepts of relationship based care.

Shifts Available: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am

Status available: Full-time

Every Other Weekend and 3 Holidays per year required for Full-time and Part-time team members.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED.

Experience

• Preferred minimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long term) OR successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course OR Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

Performs nursing care as delegated by the RN in an effort to identify/ attain treatment goals such as:

• Assistspatientin completing ADLs
