Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician - Surgical Oncology for our Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus. The role is part-time (24 hours/week) with 7:00am–7:30pm shifts and every 3rd weekend/holiday track. You will assist the RN in patient care, focusing on comfort and safety, and support a busy oncology unit.

Qualifications

• CPR certification by American Heart Association.
• Six months of patient care experience or completion of a nursing assistant training course.
• If required by department, completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork, with ability to follow directions.

• Provide patient care tasks and procedures under RN guidance to ensure patient comfort, safety and wellbeing.

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do:

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need:

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
