Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia Campus is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the ICU on the night shift (7:00 pm – 7:00 am). Under RN supervision, you will provide direct patient care and support, ensuring a safe, clean environment. This is a full-time role with opportunities for growth.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, and a preference for 1 year of direct care experience or related coursework. Excellent teamwork and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred minimum of one year of direct care experience (acute or long term) OR completion of PCT/CENA/MA/EMT course.
• Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing care as delegated by the RN to attain treatment goals.
• Assist patient in completing ADLs and demonstrate aseptic technique as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient care environment for patient/family well being.
• Record patient information and required data for documentation and charging.
• Complete delegated unit-specific activities.

Position Purpose

Under the direction of a registered nurse, the patient care technician is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Assists in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family well being including concepts of relationship based care.

Shifts Available: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am

Status available: Full-time

Every Other Weekend and 3 Holidays per year required for Full-time and Part-time team members.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED.

Experience

• Preferred minimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long term) OR successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course OR Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

Performs nursing care as delegated by the RN in an effort to identify/ attain treatment goals such as:

• Assistspatientin completing ADLs


• Demonst Prates sterile or aseptic technique as appropriate when performing delegated activities


• Assistsin establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe, and conducive to patient/family well being


• Records patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation and charging requirements


• Completes delegated unit specific activities
