Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Strongly preferred for CNAs with at least 3 years of CNA experience in an acute care setting; licensure requirements must be met as described, with CNA license within 120 days after graduation. Background screening required for all care providers in this facility.

The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to delivery of patient care in assigned departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

- Require one of the following: 1.) Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment; or 2.) Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: a.) currently be enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN); b.) if enrolled, have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN; and c.) cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN; or 3.) Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.
