Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Strongly preferred for CNAs with at least 3 years of CNA experience in an acute care setting; licensure requirements must be met as described, with CNA license within 120 days after graduation. Background screening required for all care providers in this facility.

Qualifications

• Must hold Florida licensure as CNA, EMT, or Paramedic, or National EMT licensure; nursing students eligible for CNA exam.
• Nursing students must be enrolled or graduated from an accredited Nursing program and meet clinical requirements; cannot be licensed RN/LPN yet.
• Certification: Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation; refer to Florida Board-approved programs.

Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to delivery of patient care in assigned departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

*** Strongly prefer CNA candidates with a minimum of 3 years of CNA experience in an acute care setting! ***

Required Qualifications

- Require one of the following: 1.) Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment; or 2.) Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: a.) currently be enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN); b.) if enrolled, have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN; and c.) cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN; or 3.) Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.
