Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a day-shift, full-time Rapid Admission Unit Patient Care Technician in Albuquerque, NM. You will support patients with ADLs, monitor vital signs, collect specimens, and assist with transport under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy experience or course.
• Preferred: knowledge of medical terminology.
• Preferred: 2 years’ experience in acute or long-term care.
• Preferred: CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, or currently enrolled in nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• 2 years’ experience in acute or long-term care.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, which includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing school.
