Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a night-shift, part-time Emergency Room Patient Care Technician (PCT). You will support patients with daily activities, monitor vital signs, and assist nurses during shifts.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and BLS certification within 14 days of hire. Preferred candidates may have phlebotomy experience or coursework and are currently enrolled in nursing school.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• Preferred phlebotomy experience or completion of a Phlebotomy course.
• 2 years' experience in acute or long-term care is preferred.
• Working towards CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification.
• Currently enrolled in nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, including assisting patients with ADLs.
• Observe patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measures and records patients' intake and output and assists with range of motion and blood draws.

Responsibilities

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observe patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• 2 years' experience in acute or long-term care
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Working towards approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification
• Currently enrolled in nursing school.
