Patient Care Tech / PCT Med Surg

We are looking for a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide night shift and part-time care on the 5th floor of our Medical Surgical unit in Albuquerque, NM. The role involves assisting patients with daily living activities and supporting nursing staff.

• Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, offering emergency, surgical, robotic spine surgery, stroke, radiology, and oncology services.

Responsibilities

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to assist patients with bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observe patients’ progress and disseminate reports to Registered nurses or other medical staff.
• Obtain and record vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport, housekeeping duties, and support intake/output measurements.
• Assist with range of motion, draw blood, and other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification, to be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Preferred: Completed CNA, PCT, paramedic (EMT-P), or nursing education, including BLS.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience or certification in phlebotomy.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
