Job summary

UPMC Carlisle is seeking a Part Time Patient Care Technician for the Ortho/Med Surg Unit. This role supports patient procedures and activities of daily living, documents in the medical record, and communicates with the RN and health care team to ensure safe, compassionate care.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and either 1 year of general healthcare experience or enrollment in a PT/OT/PA/RN program, plus completion of UPMC patient care technician training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of general healthcare experience or enrollment in PT/OT/PA/RN program with at least one clinical rotation.
• EMT or Paramedic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient procedures and activities of daily living.
• Document in medical records per procedure guidelines.
• Report equipment issues and patient status changes to RN.
• Support call lights, meal trays, and mobility needs on the unit.
• Uphold safety policies and hospital confidentiality standards.
