Job summary

OSS Health is seeking a part-time Patient Care Tech for the Med Surg/Ortho Unit at York, PA. The role works day shifts (6:45am–6:45pm) with 24 hours every 6 weeks, and 36 hours during peak months, plus one holiday shift.

Responsibilities include vital signs, patient care, data reporting to the RN, and maintaining safety and confidentiality. Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and current BLS certification (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• Current certification in BLS or the ability to obtain before working independently with patients.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs and patient care on assigned group of patients.
• Collects and documents patient care data and reports abnormalities to RN.
• Maintains safety and infection control practices.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Participates in unit meetings, education and quality initiatives.
• Adheres to competency testing and assigned duties.
